Migrating old wordpress blog to new

  Stupid question no doubt: I read the info on the Forum about migrating a blog.
  I have an old wordpress blog. I want to merge its content with my current blog.
  If I log in on the old blog and follow the forum steps, will my older posts be migrated correctly into my new blog?
  If so, will they end up in my new archive section (which I prefer), or will they be treated as if they were created on the day of migration? So be posted as if they’re newer than my latest posts?

  Oh: and my current blog is listed as if that’s the one I want to migrate. No, that is of course not the case. No use using the dashboard of my new blog as my old one was created under a different account.
