Migrating PHPBB to WordPress CMS

  Hello,

  Is it possible to migrate all forums created with PHPBB to WordPress CMS? Do I have to install additional module/plug-in for forum in WordPress CMS to migrate?

  Is there anything I shall be aware in migrating procedure?

  WordPress isn’t forum software and would work poorly for that purpose and we cannot use plugins here for security reasons. Plugins are for self-hosted wordpress sites.

  See this support document for the differences between wordpress.com and wordpress.org.

  There is the BBPress forum plugin that is written by the same folks who write wordpress and integrates quite nicely from what I’ve heard.

  I should add that the BBPress forum plugin would have to be used on a wordpress site hosted on a third-party hosting service such as godaddy, bluehost, etc., using the software from wordpress.ORG.

  Thank you for your kind answer.

  I am going to use self-hosted wordpress site, but currently it is not wordpress yet though we might change in future.

  With current CMS, I will use PHPBB as the forum. So, I like to know whether it is easy to migrate from PHPBB to BBPress after having wordpress CMS.
