Migrating server from free wordpress.com server to outside server.

    Hi guys,

    Completely new at this – so I apologize in advance if this is a rather stupid question.

    I have created a website/blog on wordpress.com’s free plan. Since they do not allow FTP access/will not allow plugin installations without upgrading, I’ve decided to change servers to a paid server outside of wordpress.

    My understanding is that I have to first 1) Move all files from my wordpress to the new server and 2) Get into MySQL and export the data, and then import the data to my new server.

    Unfortunately, since I cannot install plugins or access my files via FTP, I cannot download the files in order to move them over to the new server. I am also lost as to accessing the SQL data via the free wordpress.com interface.

    Can anyone give me any guidance?
