migrating subscribers from a self-hosted site to another self-hosted site
-
I’ve created a new version of my website in a development area. But when I try to go live, I lose my email subscribers. How do I migrate the subscribers from the old site please?
-
Hi there,
For information on migrating your subscribers, please follow the instructions on our support page:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/moving-your-subscribers/
However, if you provide the sites you are migrating your subscribers to and from, we can also take care of this for you on our end.
Thanks,

Hi
Thanks for your response. I’d already read those instructions and they say that they don’t cover moving subscribers between self-hosted sites. So your help with transferring them would be much appreciated.
The origin site is foiman.com and the destination site is staging.foiman.com.
I think the problem is that the staging site is registered as a separate blog by Jetpack even though it is just a development version of the main site. Anything you can do so that I can carry my subscribers over much appreciated.
Thanks -
Thanks for all the info. Since these are self-hosted sites, you’ll actually want to reach out to Jetpack support: https://jetpack.com/contact-support/?rel=support
They can help you with the migration :) -
I keep trying to do this, but when I try to login to get access to support, it won’t let me. It accepts my login details but just gives me the following message: ‘You are not logged in. Please login now with your WordPress.com account so we can best support you.’
I am logging in but it won’t let me even ask for support.
What am I getting wrong? -
The site might actually be connected to a different WordPress.com user account. What is the site URL?
-
The site URL is foiman.com. The development version (the version without subscribers) is staging.foiman.com.
-
Well, both of those sites you listed are indeed under the account you are contacting us from. Since you are logged in and contacting us, you should automatically be logged in while visiting https://jetpack.com/contact-support/?rel=support
When you visit the site, you should see:
You are logged in as foiman
along with a drop list of sites to choose from. Here is what mine is showing when I visit below.
If you are still having trouble seeing this page, I would try a different browser or clear your current browser’s cache and see if it comes up correctly for you.
Thanks,

Thank you – clearing the cache didn’t seem to work, but using Chrome on my laptop did. Appreciate the help!
