Migrating to a Dedicated Windows IIS webserver

    Hi all,

I would like to migrate my company’s website to a new host server. The vendor that supports the site doesn’t seem confident that migrating to that new server is as straight-forward as it seems. (says the guy who doesn’t actually need to do that work!)

Can someone give me hand with understanding what the steps are to migrating the site over to the new server?

FYI…It’s already spun up. It has MySQL on it. It has IIS on it. we’re configuring it for SFTP.

    Thank you
    -Jeff Morris

    Hi Jeff,

It seems like your question is about a self-hosted WordPress.org website, and not regarding a WordPress.com-hosted one. WordPress.org is a free site-engine software, while WordPress.com is a web hosting company. You can find more information about the differences between WordPress.org and WordPress.com here: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/
