Hey there @nailahonispeaks , you’d only need a WordPress.org account to participate in its community—if you need its technical support forum, or if you are a developer and you want to share your plugin, for example. You typically won’t need an account there to just start a WordPress site.
That said, I’m aware there are several outdated tutorials out there that will unconditionally advise folks to buy hosting and install their own DIY copy of WordPress, typically because we didn’t allow plugins or theme uploads here until several years ago.
If you’re willing to share your goals in moving your site, we’d love to help you sort out whether that’s the best move in your case. Our service includes top-of-the-line SSL hosting, as well as maintenance, security, spam filtering, and direct support with any paid plan, vs. doing it yourself and hiring out services as needed. We’ve got a lot to offer here, whether you’re just getting started, or whether you’ve got an established site and just want us to have your back on the technical stuff. Let us know what you have in mind, or we could reach out by email if you’d feel more comfortable.
