Migrating to WordPress.org

  Hi,

  I’m migrating from the wordpress.com to the .org, i Already have a domain and a hosting site, my only doubt is about the Stats in Jetpack. When i finish the migration, the stats will be lost or it will be carried over to the new site?

  Hi @tiagotol,

  In order to transfer your stats from your WordPress.COM site to your self hosted site, a member of staff will have to give you a helping hand.

  I’ll tag this thread for staff assistance so they can help you when they get to you. They just ask that you be patient in the meantime and be sure to subscribe to this thread so you’ll be notified when a member of staff responds.

  Thanks for the answer..I’ll migrate the system this sunday. I’ll have the same domain name (www.blogdabarba.com). Do you still need to migrate it for me? I’ll let you know, than you very much for your help.

  Hi Chris,

  I have started the process but I’m not being able to point my domain to the new host..

  The domain is http://www.blogdabarba.com, the new host is A Small Orange (Name: ns1.asmallorange.com, ns2.asmallorange.com).

  I have the domain ‘www.blogdabarba.com.br’ registered in that host as well and I also started the domain transfer process that will take some time to complete, so I wanted to point my domain there before that time. Can you help me do that plz?

  If you want to update your name servers for blogdabarba.com, pointing it to your new host, this guide should help:

  Regarding your other question, I’d avoid making multiple DNS changes in a short period of time. It can take up to 48 hours for DNS changes to take effect anyway, so it’s likely that your transfer process will be complete by then.

  I have finished merging your stats for you, so you should now see the combined stats for both sites on blogdabarba.com.br.

  I notice you also have some followers on your old site. Note that you can transfer them to your new site as well using Jetpack. You can find instructions to do that yourself here:

  I’m trying to migrate the followers now but my old site is not selectable in the list of sites to choose from. I’ve already contacted the people from Jetpack, I’m not sure that you can help me with that.

  The reason you’re not seeing the old blog in Jetpack is because it belongs to a different account. Your @tiagotol account is an admin on the old blog, but not the owner.

  I can move the followers for you, but for security reasons I will need the request to come from the account that owns the blog. If the other account also belongs to you, please log into that account and reply to this thread that you want me to move the followers, and I can take care of that for you.
