Migrating to WordPress.org, Having difficulties

So, I want to self-host my blog, which has been on wordpress.com for almost a year now. Yesterday afternoon, I cancelled my domain mapping, but I can still access my blog via the mapped domain.

I’m using GoDaddy’s WordPress hosting product. I went through the installation, and wordpress files were installed. I thought I’d installed them to the root directory, but GoDaddy says that the path is being used by another install.

I’m a little confused about where to go from here, or what the other application install GoDaddy referred to is.

I suppose my first question is twofold: How long does it take to unmap my domain? And, if my domain is still mapped (despite my cancellation almost 24 hours ago), could my mapped domain be the other application install mentioned in the error message?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Did you go into your domain management on your account here and change the DNS nameserver records to point at the godaddy nameservers? A “whois” search still shows them pointing at wordpress.COM.

Also, on the issues with the software install over at godaddy, you will either have to talk with them, or inquire over at http://wordpress.ORG/support/ . We cannot help you with your self-hosted install since we volunteers here know virtually nothing about setting up and running a self-hosted install.
