Migrating users with hashed password
-
I am migrating my shop website from other platform to WordPress. I have got the customer accounts information from my old website and want to import it to the WordPress website. However, the password are stored in hashed form. If I import customers directly, they may not be able to login as WordPress will also hash the password when they log in?
What can I do so that customers can log in to my new WordPress website with their original password?

Hi there,
I’m not sure if it’s possible to import customer accounts from other platforms to WordPress in this way.
Please ask for advice from the WordPress.org community, who makes the open source WordPress software, about this instead. If it’s possible, they should be able to tell you how.
You can also check with support for the specific ecommerce plugin you’re using, whether they offer an option to import customer accounts in this way.
The forum you’re posting to at the moment is for the hosting provider, WordPress.com, and we’re only able to help with sites hosted on our server, and using our built-in features :)
