Hello. Thank you for reaching out to us about migrating your website, TheJordanianmappers.com, to WordPress.com from website.com.
The current hosting service is called website.com and it does not allow plugins, could you please let me know how I can migrate to WordPress?
I appreciate your patience and understand that you’re eager to make the transition. However, I noticed that your current site appears to be created using another site creation tool/platform. Is that a WordPress site that you are hosting elsewhere?
If the site wasn’t created using the WordPress software (which explains why you can’t install plugins), it might be challenging to migrate it from the external provider to WordPress.com. But don’t worry, we’ll figure it out together.
Here at WordPress.com, we host sites using our proprietary version of WordPress. This is different from WordPress.org, which is the actual software that you install on the servers of hosts such as Pressable. You can learn more about the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org here.
To import your site to WordPress.com, you can find some common options:
Move Your SiteHowever, as website.com uses a different site creation tool, I’d recommend getting in touch with them first to see if they offer any option to export your site content. If they do, you can then import the content to WordPress.com and redesign your site here.
If you need any assistance with creating a new site, we also offer site creation services. You can find more information: https://wordpress.com/built-by/?utm_campaign=happiness
