    Hi there,

How much traffic can WordPress business plan handle.

“We have sites that get tens of thousands page views per day, with total page views across the platform numbering at over a hundred million per day, so I’m confident we can handle your site’s traffic. We don’t have any bandwidth limitations on WordPress.com, so your site has the exact same traffic capacity whether it’s on a free or a Business plan.”

How to migrate the website to wordpress.com

The below support document should help you with the same.

    Hope that helps.

    Thank you.

That’s really quick, Thanks a lot for the support.

Well, I have some more questions.

1- How will I transfer my post links ?
2- Will the post attachments also migrate in the .xml file?
3- Should I migrate after purchasing the plan or should I first migrate the website to free subdomain and then upgrade to the business plan?

    Thanks

    Hi there,

How will I transfer my post links ?

Please refer the below support document regarding the same.
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/blogroll/import-export-links/

Will the post attachments also migrate in the .xml file?

Yes they will. The below support document should help you with migration.

Should I migrate after purchasing the plan or should I first migrate the website to free subdomain and then upgrade to the business plan?

You can do it either ways but as you require WordPress.com business plan you can directly purchase the plan and start migration.

I am tagging this question with the modlook tag on the Tags section of the sidebar for staff to confirm the same.

Read about the modlook tag here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question

  • Hi there,

1- How will I transfer my post links ?

I’m not sure what you mean here. Are you speaking of post permalinks? Those are saved in your site’s database, and form part of the export data. If you use a custom permalink structure on your existing site, we’ll automatically convert those to the link structure we use on WordPress.com on import.

2- Will the post attachments also migrate in the .xml file?

The .xml export file does not include media files on your site, only links to where they exist on your site’s media library. Media files are transferred over after the initial import completes, and the old site needs to stay online and at its current domain until after this process completes.

3- Should I migrate after purchasing the plan or should I first migrate the website to free subdomain and then upgrade to the business plan?

It doesn’t matter when you purchase the plan. It does matter when you switch the domain over to point to our servers – you should only do that once you’ve made sure all media files have been imported as well.

If you’re using any plugins on your current site and you want to keep using them on your Business Plan WordPress.com site, then an alternative option might be to use a migration plugin to move your site to us instead. In that case I’d suggest buying the plan first, and then contacting us via live chat so someone can advise you on the best options that currently work with WordPress.com and guide you through the process of moving your site that way.
