Migrating wordpress.com followers to wordpress.org
-
Hi there,
I recently moved to a self-hosted, wordpress.org website (egyptianstreets.com), from a wordpress.com website which had 3,364 followers. I was wondering whether there is a way to migrate these followers to the wordpress.org? I have installed JetPack but I am unable to find any such feature.
Please let me know as soon as possible,
Kind regards,
Mohamed Khairat (EgyptianStreets.com)The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello there Mohamed, I am happy to help with your subscriber transfer to the new site.
There is one thing I will need you to do first, however. Your Jetpack site is currently connected as an IP address, rather than as a domain name, on the WordPress.com server. Could you please disconnect and then reconnect Jetpack to/from your WordPress.com account? Once that is done and you’ve reconnected as egyptianstreets.com/, I can migrate your followers.
Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks very much!

Hello,
Thank you for your response and apologies for the late response. I have disconnected and re-connected jetpack. Let me know if that didn’t work or if there are any further steps I ned to take.
Kind regards,

Hello again! Thank you so much for doing the disconnect/reconnect.
I was able to migrate your subscribers from egyptianstreets.wordpress.com to your Jetpack site. You had 3,120 WordPress.com subscribers and 286 email subscribers.
It may take several hours for these subscribers to appear in your Stats, so don’t panic if you don’t see them right away. However, do contact me if you don’t see them after 24-hours.
Facebook and Twitter followers to not transfer as part of this migration.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Wishing you all the best on your self-hosted site!

Hi there,
My website went ‘down’ moments before I received your reply here. Do you think it could be linked to the migration?

Hi there! That is strange. I’ve never seen that issue before. Could you do the disconnect/reconnect again and let me know if that helps? Thank you.
