Migration Issues
-
First, it is terribly hard to find a way to contact you. Stumbled upon this form after a hour of search and posting on social platforms.
Migrated from a self hosted to WP, now I get a error message. ‘Jetpack 3.3 is required. Update now.’ … BUT, there are no plugins for WP hosted sites, right? For some reason the old site williammartin.com in which I used to self-host is mixed up with boneshakerbike.wordpress -> williammartin.com where it is now. Does this make sense. Kind of tired seeing this error message and having two stats areas.
How do I get help?

I’m sorry to hear that. Could you tell me where the first place you looked was? It’s useful to know where users expect the support links to be.
As for the main problem, that is fixed. Your jetpack connection to your old self-hosted site was still active in your dashboard, so you were seeing links to the old site and the new site. Since the same domain name was attached to both, I’m sure that was annoying. Now you just have the new, WordPress.com site in your account.

Hi, thanks for your help. I first looked around on the dashboards (admin areas) then at https://en.support.wordpress.com/ … really I cant remember how I stumbled into the contact form that eventually got this to you. ~bill

I see the same, but when I click on it it just brings me to a search page. I remember I couldn’t find any related issue so I gave up and went to social media to ask around. Then somehow I stumbled upon the contact form by accident. I think I seen the button that said, “Get in Touch with Support” which pops up when you start to type in the search box (at the bottom of relevant results). I realize that it is hidden so people try to help themselves first. No worries. Just thought you would value the user experience info.

Ah, thanks. When you type your question on that page, you start a three step process that let’s you submit a request. I can see how that might not be obvious.
Really appreciate the feedback.
