Migration of Followers / JetPack Blues

    Hi
I was having trouble logging into my WordPress.com account due to the two step authentication (kept going in an endless loop) and had just migrated my blog debtdebs.com over to self-hosted yesterday.

I was concerned about not getting the akismet plugin activated right away so I created a new WordPress.com account debtdebsblog in order to get the API. In addition, I also activated JetPack with this new account.

Now I come to learn that in order to move my subscribers over to my new site, I needed to have used my original WP account to set up JetPack/Akismet. ugg

So what should I do now? Should I disable JetPack and Askismet on my new blog and start over?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Another Volunteer may answer prior to Staff but I tagged the thread so it will not fall through the cracks and escape attention. Hang in there please because it’s a long weekend.

An update. I guess I wasn’t as patient as I thought.

I disconnected Jetpack and reconnected, it seems to have worked. I can now see both of my blogs debtdebs.wordpress.com and debtdebs.com when I sign into WordPress.com.

However, when I follow the instructions here….
    http://jetpack.me/support/subscription-migration-tool/
and click on the migrate button, nothing happens.

Please advise. I have 68 subscribers that I wish to transfer over. TQ

    Hi there,

I’m sorry for the trouble — I can move those followers for you.

After the move, your email followers will continue to receive email updates, and your WordPress.com followers will continue to see your new posts in the Reader. If your WordPress.com followers would like to receive email updates, as well, they can subscribe via email on your new blog.

Please let me know if you have any questions about that. If it all sounds good, please reply here to let me know and I’ll go ahead and move those followers for you. :)

Yes, please, thank you Rachel. Please go ahead and move the followers.

Thanks for confirming! I just moved your followers over to your self-hosted site at debtdebs.com, so you’re all set with that. Just let me know if I can do anything more to help.

deliciouslyndiy – it’s probably best if you create your own ticket, as I will be closing this one as resolved.
