migration or new name
-
http://idpmedialab13.wordpress.com is a site I used as a CMS for a class last fall. I am teaching it again but want to change the title to (http://idcmedia14.wordpress.com) and much- but not all- of the content. I would like to retain the structure.
I paid for an upgrade in June for this site would that apply to the “new, yet to be created site” I hope to make (cannibalize) from medialab13?I am very grateful for any help. I don’t know where to start?
Also my theme “vigilance” is retired. Can I change to a responsive theme and keep the structure?THANK YOU !
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You cannot edit any URL but you can change the blog address ie. the URL starting with http://. You must be logged in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog to do that and the URL you desire must be available. If so then you can change the URL by using this guide http://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/ Look closely at the image to find the correct My Blogs location

Note that both changing a URL or deleting a URL are permanent and irreversiable actions. -
The Site title (blog name) and/or the optional Tagline can be changed on the top of this page at any time. > Settings > General …
“save changes”. That is exactly where search engine spiders look for the site title and removing it from there can cause issues with getting your content indexed. Note that the site title (blog name) and blog address URL do not have to be the same but it’s better for SEO (search engine optimization) if they are the same. Also my theme “vigilance” is retired. Can I change to a responsive theme and keep the structure?
No. Each theme is differently structured. See here http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/responsive-layout/
Know that responsive width means the layout adapts depending on the size of the device being used to view your site. When responsive width themes are viewed on mobiles sidebars appear below the posts in order to provide as much space as possible for reading. The mobile theme is a completely different theme. When we use a responsive layout themes we go to > Appearance > Mobile and disable the mobile theme
You can quickly and easily change themes to another one found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and no data will be lost or negatively affected by the change. The only time you may have to do some work is if you are changing to a dramatically different theme and have done any CSS editing.
Provided you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the blog go to Dashboard > Appearance > Themes and browse themes until you find one you like and click “activate” or type in the name of the theme you want to use and
click the “activate” link when it appears. After you change your theme all you need to do is go here Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets > Inactive Widgets and re-install them where you want them to appear. The widget contents and settings will be the same as they were prior to changing themes.
