Migration To Self Hosted

  Hi,
  I had the free wordpress blog happyandharried.wordpress.com and I moved to a self hosted one happyandharried.com
  I moved my data using export-import. I inadvertently created a new admin user for the new self hosted blog. I imported all posts from the wordpress.com blog under the new user’s name. But I see that some posts are missing their comments section. The comments have been imported, I can verify that when I go to Comments page from dashboard. The link alone seems to be broken between posts and their comments.
  My question is, whether this is because there are two different users now? Can I make my old user as admin for the new blog? Will this bring all the comments back? Can a blog have multiple admins?
  Or is it some other issue during migration? How do I solve this?

  I think so. You will always have a different admin user on WordPress.org than you do on .com — even if you use the same username, they’re differnet accounts because they are not in the same database.

  A few words caught my eye here, though “some posts” — does this mean some posts show comments and others do not? And also “The comments have been imported, I can verify that when I go to Comments page from dashboard.” seems to indicate they’re there, and something else is causing an issue. Can you try reaching out to the @WordPress community at http://wordpress.org/support/ ?

  Thanks for the reply!
  I didn’t know about the different admin users on .com and self hosted WP sites. Thanks for clearing that up. I may have tried deleting one of those users…lol!
  And yes, what I meant was, all the data (posts, comments, pages) have been imported. Only issue is, when I go to my actual new website, some posts do not show comments where I initially had many comments. Almost as if the “link” between the post-comment is gone now. Weird, huh?
