Milestone Widget

  I am able to get the Milestone Widget to be displayed on my posts and pages but not on my Home Page. I currently have the theme Mixfolio. Just wondering if there is a way for me to do so?

  HI!

  The Mixfolio theme does not display widgets on the homepage. You would need to change to a different theme to get your widget to show up on the front page. Would you be willing to switch themes? If so, I’m happy to help you find one!

  Hey Jeremy!

  Thanks for your response. Yes, I would very much like your help in choosing an alternate theme that allows multiple milestone widgets on the homepage. The other factor that is a must for the page is for the template to have a preview-like view of the posts. What I liked about this template and also the Blocco theme that I had before was that they both had homepages that provided either an image/title related to the post and not the contents of the post itself. Does this make sense?

  Thanks Jeremy :) I opted for the gridspace theme. Just one last question about Widgets, the count down is incorrect. It reads that the milestone is due to occur in one month’s time when it is actually two. Do you know how that can be fixed?

  Awesome! I love the Gridspace theme.

  Regarding the Milestone widget, that’s currently the expected function. The widget rounds the time remaining down to the nearest month. So, for example, your event on 3/9/14 is one month and 20+ days away. However, the widget will read that as one month. If the event was two months and 20+ days away, it would say “2 months.” Does that help to clarify?

  Oh no! I need a countdown for assignment due dates that is precise and does not round to the nearest month. Is there another way of achieving this, preferably on the homepage?

  Hey Lucia,

  There is not a way of achieving this automatically (without manually changing the dates) right now at WordPress.com. Instead of using the countdown, you could setup a calendar widget. Would that work?
