minimal responsive theme sidebar on posts pages

This is directed to Staff and that’s why I added the modlook tag.

Over the couese of the last week my blog has been very slow loading from the Admin side and it’s driving me crazy.

I do not have a bloated browser – I am a minimalist in all things.

    I have tried other themes.

I have removed all sticky posts and featured images from them.

I require a minimal responsive theme with a sidebar on posts when displayed on their own pages (no featured images).

Which themes do you suggest that I try please?

Also is there some way to determine exactly which posts in my blog have featured images set? I want to edit those posts and remove the featured images from them.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi Timethief,

I’ve been digging Penscratch, personally, which is a really simple, modern-looking theme.
    https://wordpress.com/themes/penscratch/

It’ll support widgets if you add them, which display in a sidebar, and if you only want them to show up on pages or single post pages, you can do that with the visibility feature: https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/#widget-visibility

There’s not really an easy way to remove featured images from all posts at once, but if you like, I can try exporting your data, remove the featured image metadata on my local computer using an SQL query, and then export a new data file for you. That should remove any references to featured images.

    Does that sound good? :)

I forgot to mention, I’m not noticing slower page loads from the back-end of your site, nor on the front-end. We can see what kind of effect removing these featured images will have, and do some testing if load time issues persist.

    Hi there,
The slow loading time was addressed when I switched to using Expound after removing every sticky post designation and all the featured images in sticky posts.

I am having the kind of day at work that has made me feel very “witchy” so after the weekend is over and I have recovered I’ll give Penscratch a try.

Thanks. Maybe next week I will take you up on that after the two day workshop I’m attending this weekend on conflict resolution in the workplace and in everyday life.

Sounds good, let me know! And enjoy the workshop. :)

I just recovered form the workshop. I didn’t conflicts to resolve but others did and all their youthful OTT EMO dialogue did me in. I’m too old for this. Need I say more?

Now about the theme and slow loading time on Admin pages and all that. I changed to Penscratch. It’s a cool minimal theme. The loading time issue has disappeared. All is well. Thanks.
