Minor niggle with Page Jumps or Footnotes

  I’ve noticed that when I’m logged into WordPress and the black bar appears at the top of the screen a Page Jump will move the text to one below the intended destination. It’s as if the actual jump point is hidden by the WordPress black bar.

  Can we get the developers to fix that?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi Bill,
  For issues like this one that Volunteers cannot help with simply type modlook into the sidebar tags on the thread to get Staff help. Then subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.

  Hi @billbennettnz,

  Thanks for the report here. The jump is actually moving to the correct spot. However, as you noted, the link is being hidden behind the WordPress admin bar. The best solution would be to place the return jump (the jump back up in the text) a line or two above the desired line to take the admin bar into account. Logged out users shouldn’t have any trouble with the link either way (it should land on the correct line).

  I meant this more as a notice to the developers than me needing a fix. I can live with being a line out when looking at my own site, it’s a little harder when I’m visiting someone else’s.

  Basically, the admin bar/page jump are handled correctly on page load (so if you grab the URL of the jump and open it in a new tab). However, within page (when you click the link normally), the admin bar gets in the way.
