  I have studied the info on pings, but cannot find a way to delete the pings that now appear on my page:

  My own posts are reported as “comments”, an embarrassing foolishness I would like to delete.

  Hi there,

  The easiest way to remove the current pings would be to visit your comment page here:

  https://davidlidov.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit-comments.php

  At the top of the page, you can sort by comments or pings. When you sort by pings, you should see a list of all of your self-pings. Then, you can unapprove the comment or trash it entirely, which will remove it from your comment section on the individual post.

  Going forward, if you would like to stop self-pings, you can omit part of the URL as described here:
