Mismatch in browser notices,dashboard indications and e-mails

    1.I received an e-mail from WordPress saying xyz was following me.But my dashboard showed no change in the list of blogs following me,e-mail subscribers or comment subscribers.

    2.I get a browser notice saying that abc has liked my post.But there is no corresponding icon on my post.

    Am I missing something pretty basic?Am I doing something wrong?Or is this a software glitch?How can I get such problems sorted out?
