Missed Schedule. Again and Again. Now please go fix it!
-
Scheduling new posts need a lot of love, as the “Missed Schedue” thing has been going on for years now and it is not improving.
This week alone, I had to re-publish a “Missched Schedule” post almost every day, and I’ve started to mark them in categories for about the last 2 weeks (hoping a WordPress engineer can look into their editing history and find a cause): http://wiert.me/category/socialmedia/wordpress/missed-schedule/
Don’t get back to me with “didn’t visitors trigger the schedule” (I have 500-1000 visitors per day), “are your time zone settings correct” (they have been correct for years), “are you having more than 100 scheduled posts” (yes, I have, that’s the whole point of scheduling), or other excuses: just fix it!
I have a queue of blog posts of more than a year (yes, 300+ posts and growing), and as a paying customer I expect such a feature to “just work”, not having to daily monitor if posts got published at all: that’s way too costly for anyone to do.
Given the vast number of posts about people suffering from “Missed Schedule” I’m certainly alone on this, so please bring some happiness in this sad list of people suffering from this:

Jeroen, I found that when I use the WP editor for scheduling, it never posts. I wrote a post last week about LiveWriter. It’s a great tool, it’s free, and, for some reason, the scheduling works flawlessly…
Hope this helps,
Colleen

Right now, only one, but I’ve had as many as five (spurts of prolific writing?).
LiveWriter uploads them to the WP server immediately, but maybe the code is properly parsed vs. the WP editor (which never seems to work for me if I upload draft then schedule in the website editor).

I’m not sure I want to trade my web based workflow with a workflow that depends on a single platform (especially since I don’t always have a Windows machine at hand). But it sure looks very nice, and seems to handle a lot of clipboard operations better than the web based workflow.

The issue is still not resolved; see http://wiert.me/category/socialmedia/wordpress/missed-schedule/
Anyone from WordPress staff. Please?

@jpluimers have you managed to sort this out. I am also facing similar issues, everything looks good, timezone setting, i have visitors online on the site for all the 24 hours, do anything, WP keeps missing the schedules.

WordPress never reacted on this. They seem to be OK with many paying customers suffering from this problem.
