Missing background on one page
-
I have twenty eleven as my theme, which works fine on everything apart from one of my ‘pages’ where the white background is not coming through on the main body as it does for the rest of the pages.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there!
It seems your page titled “Coaching – what is it?” had some extra HTML in your link to your website, which was breaking the layout of the page.
I went in and removed the extra HTML code and your page is displaying with the white background again. You might need to clear your browser cache and cookies to see the changes:

Hi again
I’m having trouble with the ease with which people are able to ‘follow’ my blog if they are not Word press users. I received the email below from someone who is struggling – can you please let me know what I can do to ease this challenge?
“I also had a look at your blog which is great and like the articles you have wrote. I pushed the link to follow you sent. I am not sure what the procedure is as I received an e-mail which is below. When I clicked on the link it sent me to webpage which I have attached. This say’s I am not actively following any blogs. Not sure what is happening yet it seems to be a complicated process to go through.
You maybe able to shed some light on this for me as you maybe getting the same from other people that want to follow your blogs.
Manage your WordPress.com subscriptions by clicking this link or copying it into a browser:
WordPress.com | Thanks for flying with WordPress!
Manage Subscriptions | Reach out to your own subscribers with WordPress.com.Trouble clicking? Copy and paste this URL into your browser: http://subscribe.wordpress.com”

Can you clarify what link you sent this user – or was he using the Follow Blog Widget on your homepage?
If they’re using the latter, this is might be the problem:
I pushed the link to follow you sent. I am not sure what the procedure is as I received an e-mail which is below.
If he didn’t enter his email in that field before clicking “follow blog”, nothing would happen. By entering his email in that field, he would’ve received a follow blog confirmation link in his email that he would have had to click before he would be subscribed via email. Then that link he sent you would show the blogs that person is following via email.
To verify, I looked at the pending email followers for your site in our system and that email address does not show up. That means they never entered that email address into the Follow Blog Widget field before clicking “follow blog.”
I would recommend adding text in that widget to display for non-WordPress.com users that they need to enter their email address in that field then click “follow” – that might avoid confusion in the future.
I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any questions.

Another query! How do I default to a .com address for my website/blog? I have paid for this but can’t access it!

Hi again!
You can select your .com domain to be the default by going to Store -> Domains, clicking the button next to the .com domain to select it, then click the “update primary domain” button.
Then your new .com domain will be the default domain for your site.
I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any questions. :)

Yeah, I tried that, and it didn’t work! A pop up box came up and said something dreadful would happen, I continued, and clicked on it and went to another site. It said I had to do other things – i.e. the url above :-)
-
Thanks for that information!
It’s not dreadful, it’s just alerting you that your domain nameservers (DNS) for “awakeningyourlife.com” are not pointing to WordPress.com.
Please go to your domain registrar’s site (GoDaddy) and log into your domain control panel. You will need to update the name servers to:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COMFor more information, please visit the help documentation provided by the registrar and our support page:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/It will typically take anywhere from 4-48 hours for the DNS changes to propagate across the internet. Once that happens, you will be able to switch to the .com domain as I instructed in my previous reply.
I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any questions.

Sorry, how do I go to my ‘domain registrar’s site’? I can’t recall logging into GoDaddy previously?
-
It looks like the domain name awakeningyourlife.com was registered through GoDaddy on March 13, 2008 and most recently renewed in March of 2013.
http://who.is/whois/awakeningyourlife.comIf you purchased the registration on this domain then, you’ll need to change your nameservers to the following:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COMIf you’re not sure how, you’ll need to contact your registrar, GoDaddy, for assistance.
If you did not purchase the domain awakeningyourlife.com then, I’m afraid that it’s unavailable for your use. You’ll need to revert to using awakeningyourlife.me as your primary domain. If you didn’t register the domain, let me know, and I’ll go ahead and remove the domain mapping for awakeningyourlife.com from your account. Since it is past the refund window for domains, I’m unable to provide a refund, but I can add some credits to your account that you can use toward future upgrades or renewals.
I hope that clarifies things! Let me know if you have any questions.

No, sadly I didn’t purchase the domain awakningyourlife.com in 2008. I am using the .me as my primary domain name. Please add credits to my account as detailed.
Many thanks – it’s all a learning experience lol!

Hi there – ok, I’ve removed the .com mapping and added $13.00 worth of credits to your account. Those credits will be automatically used next time you renew an upgrade or purchase a new one. Let us know if you need anything else. :)
