How does this happen and what if anything can be done about it. These are 2 very large gaps in my blog history. I want it explained what happened as I did not personally delete them myself. Now I am backing my blog posts on my computer and my flash drive. I don’t want this happening ever again.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
This is odd. I completely understand how concerning it must be to find parts of your blog history missing—especially when you haven’t deleted anything yourself.
To help us investigate this further, could you please let us know a bit more?
- Have you ever exported or imported your site content, or restored the site from a backup in the past?
- Can you recall approximately when you first noticed the posts were missing?
- Do you happen to have any old links or bookmarks to the missing posts that we could check?
Knowing this will help us better understand what may have happened and how to move forward.
I look forward to your reply so I can help you further. -
Hi. For some reason I did not get notified that you responded. Hmm. Anyway I’ll answer your questions as best I can and thank you.
I have never exported or imported my site content. I have never restored my site from backup. I just consistently blogged.
It has been some time that I noticed the first section was missing, a few years maybe. My blog is over 11 years long now. I just let it go until I started the backup on my computer recently and saw the second gap. I really never thought about checking on it much. It was just gone, the first four months of my blog. 😟 Sad but true.
Regarding old links and/or bookmarks, no. But it is interesting that I saved a few of the missing posts as pages. When I did my recent backup I found those in my pages section which has 49 pages. They were not in my posts section. So I did get to retrieve a few posts from the missing section because I had made them into Pages. I hope that makes sense.
Two of the post to pages were done in September 2015, I think.
If you look at my Posts section these two won’t show up.The posts end in April 2015 and then start in October 2015. There are maybe another one or two like that. But I don’t think that can help much. I was just happy to find them.
I cannot understand how large gaps can happen. What can do this? This was over 10 years ago.
Again, thanks for helping.

Well it seems there is nothing that can be done about this and no explanation for why it happened. I’ll just continue to back up my posts myself because then I have control over my content.

Hello again @universefamilyhealer!
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, and thank you for your patience.
Could you share the titles of some of the posts you are finding missing? I’ll be happy to check and see if I can find them for you.
Just so you know, we don’t delete any site content on our end, so unless something was manually removed, it should still be there.
If you prefer more direct support, you can also email us directly at help@wordpress.com, and we’ll gladly help you from there.
Looking forward to hearing back from you! We’ll be here, ready to help. -
I have already been helped and there does not seem to be anything that can be done. I hought I had closed this discussion on June 6. I did not manually delete all of my content from those 2 date periods. I was just wondering if something could have malfunctioned. There is nothing else to do here but move forward and save everything I write on my computer and flash drive. No more replies are needed. This matter is closed. Thanks and goodbye.

Hey, I just found some of my missing blog posts on the Wayback Machine website. I am right now reading several posts from January 2014 and on. Now I have work to do, save my words as Google docs and download these posts to my computer and Sandisk so I’ll have them forever. I figured this out myself. Wayback Machine is really cool. You people in Support should know about this and recommend it to other people. There is a way to find lost blog posts. I just put in my website address there, http://www.firsthealer.com and there they are.
Oh my goodness I am so happy. I figured this out myself.
Bye,
Julia Angel
Missing blog posts can be retrieved on the Wayback Machine. Give it a try for yourself and then feel good again

Hello again, @universefamilyhealer! I’m glad to hear that you were able to find some of your posts.
I took a look at your site and can confirm there are a couple of posts from December 15, 2013, and May 1, 2014. When you’re in your dashboard under Posts, you can use the filter at the top of the page to sort posts by date, which might make it easier to find others.
If you’re still missing any posts, please feel free to share more details with us, like the post titles, so we can help you locate them. The more information you can provide, the better we’ll be able to assist.
And if you need to share anything sensitive, you’re always welcome to email us directly at help@wordpress.com, and we’ll be happy to support you from there.

Yes those posts from 2013, I just reposted them myself from the Way back Machine . And I plan to put 13 more from January 2014 today and continue daily until all of my missing posts are restored. Wayback Machine has all of them. You are not really helping me much.
I used Way back Machine a few times in the past and it is a wonderful resource. I won’t be needing your help in this matter. I have solved my problem myself. Please close this thread as I have done what I wanted to do, find and restore posts to my blog and backed them up too.
Goodbye.
