Missing Blogs – Not showing
-
When I click on my site Blog link there are no posts showing. This has happened since I set an existing Page into a Post. Although my old posts can be seen by selecting a Category.
I have added a new post since this but it too is not appearing and I cannot do anything to this former Post page now (i.e. to ‘un-Post’ it or remove it).
Scratching of the head time…The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
This has happened since I set an existing Page into a Post.
Do you mean that you set an existing page as the post page? When you have a static homepage, only one page may be chosen as the the blog page. To set the page titled “Blog” as your blog page, choose it at Customize > Homepage Settings > Posts page, and then save the edit by clicking the “Publish” button.

What happened was:
– I had three pages which were all on one of my drop down menus, which I wanted to merge together into one page.
– I renamed the first page (to reflect the change) and then copied and pasted the contents of pages two and three into page one.
– I then binned page two.
– For page three, because I wanted to use it as a post, I saw the ‘make page a post’ option, so I selected that, but I then saw that it didn’t appear as a post, so I created a fresh post – using the content of page three. I can’t bin the old page three.
– The Blog drop down doesn’t list any posts now.
Does that make sense?
I think my ‘make page a post’ action has fouled up my Blog, so that it is not picking up and listing any of the posts. When a category is selected (for example ‘general rubbish’), the relevant posts do appear though.Sorry, I should have said: “thank-you for responding” at the top of this entry.

Well, I am silly! I have just read your bit about ‘customise posts page’ and done what you said, and it has worked…
…which is more than my brain did.
Thank-you for your kind assistance.

You’re welcome, Pete : -)

P.S. I’m not familiar with the ‘make page a post’ option that you mention. Where did you find that? You may add a “modlook” tag to the sidebar of this topic to call for staff attention. Perhaps staff can provide an explanation as to why that option didn’t work for you.

It’s the ‘Set as Post Page’ option under the Posts Toggle Menu options on an existing post – not ‘make page a post’ as I said.
I didn’t read the instructions before using it (typical bloke thing). 8P
