Missing Categories on WIdget

  I created an article publishing website with over 200 categories to separate the posts. I tried to user widget to show them base on categories on home page and realized that under post category, not up to 100 categories created were showing.
  Please what am I doing wrong? What Can I do to make them show up on post category from my widget area?
  Any suggestion or solution proffer will be highly appreciated.
