Missing Change avatar option in profile…help!

Hi! I really want to change my userpic/avatar. I’ve consulted the Support site of WordPress and when I’ve checked the profile section, there’s no Change avatar option. I’ve also visited Gravatar but it doesn’t show the pic on my blogs/comments.
Please help!

Is the avatar showing here in the forums correct? How long ago did you upload the image?

the image that I’ve uploaded through gravatar is now showing.
The thing I’m concerned is the change avatar option in the profile.

The change avatar option in users > your profile is linked to Gravatar. Since WordPress acquired Gravatar, they are one in the same. Changing an avatar/gravatar under users > your profile has been problematic lately which is why I always suggest going directly to Gravatar to make the change.

Do also remember that avatar/gravatar changes can take up to 6-8 hours (worst case) to work their way through all the wordpress servers. It all depends on internet traffic and server loads.

I also have the same problem. I know that the avatar/gravatar changes can take up to 8 hours to work there way through the system but I simply have no mention of gravitars in my profile page or backend at all. Any ideas?

@peteireson, the blog linked to your username is NOT a wordpress.COM blog, so we will not be able to help you with that. You need to head over to http://wordpress.ORG/support/ which is where self-hosted wordpress blogs are supported.

For the difference between wordpress.COM and wordpress.ORG, see the sticky post (yellow section) at the top of the main forum page.

On users > your profile, do you see something similar to this on the right side near the top?

If so, that is where you change your avatar (which is now known as a gravatar).

Why worry about whether it shows up in the dashboard or not?

Just go to http://gravatar.com while logged into wordpress and change it there.

Avatar = Gravatar = Avatar.
