Missing Dashboard Admin Bar
-
Today, I setup a new Premium blog (vazdoopress.wordpress.com), registered a domain name, and purchased a Premium theme (Bromley).
Whenever I login to WP, I have no Admin bar and cannot access my dashboard. I had a WP site 2 years ago, and now I have a “new” view. Across the top, I see “My Blog” and “Reader”. I even tried different browsers (IE and FireFox).
Can you please assist?
Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello,
When you are logged into the admin area, on the left panel, the last entry should read WP Admin. Click that to open your regular dashboard.
Hope this helps!

THX Dinsan for your help, but that option is not there. I finally read another forum that list the missing Admin Bar issue, and WP has to correct the code. I think they are working on it because the Admin Bar comes and goes.
Again, thank you for your help!

@vazdoopress – What you are seeing at the top of every page in the Admin bar are the links to the New Dashboard.
If you want to go to your WP Admin dashboard, just add wp-admin to the end of your site address so that it reads https://vazdoopress.wordpress.com/wp-admin/ That will take you directly to the “classic” dashboard. You may want to bookmark it.
@dinsanwp – Apparently newly registered WPcom sites do not have that WP Admin link in the sidebar of the New Dashboard.
@edgewateriv – I’m not sure I understand your comment. Are you using the WP app on your ipad or browsing with Safari or another browser?
In Win10, what browser are you using?

@ justjennifer – THX. I tried that URL (https://vazdoopress.wordpress.com/wp-admin/), and now I think I have bigger issues. That link gives me the following error message:
—The owner of vazdoopress.com has configured their website improperly. To protect your information from being stolen, Firefox has not connected to this website.—
Also, I am now being prompted to upgrade to Premium. I signed up under Premium. UGH! Again, thanks!

Not having a custom domain puts me at a disadvantage here but it might be possible that it’s http://vazdoopress.com/wp-admin/ Give that a try. All sites with custom domains are being moved to HTTPS, but there’s no fixed timeline for rollout to all the custom domain sites.
Or since you know that the previous link I gave you is indeed your site, you could add an exception to FireFox.
Regardless, I’ve tagged this for Staff attention to help you get this sorted out.

Huh, I would have never thought to drop the (s) on the hypertext protocol. Although, I would like to think that I would’ve later…lol. Eureka! It worked! Your a genius girl. Thank you SO MUCH! I really appreciate you taking the time to help me. :-)

Thanks, Jennifer!
Also just wanted to add that your dashboard link is also reachable here, via the underlying vazdoopressdotcom.wordpress.com subdomain

I understood that the OP did try that link but received an error.
The URL they mentioned trying was different:
https://vazdoopress.wordpress.com/wp-admin/ – not right
-
Whoops! :)
@kathrynwp Thanks for setting me and @vazdoopress on the right link.
@vazdoopress the HTTPS link that @kathrynwp provided https://vazdoopressdotcom.wordpress.com/wp-admin/ should be used rather than the HTTP link I provided for your domain name. I do apologize.

No worries – either is fine since http://vazdoopress.com/wp-admin/ redirects automatically to https://vazdoopressdotcom.wordpress.com/wp-admin/ – they’ll end up in the right place either way. :-)
