Missing Description (META TEXT) box in SEO section in Settings
-
Dear Friends,
Yesterday I did some SEO adjustments to my WordPress site in the META TEXT (description) box in the SEO section in Settings. I put several key words for the search engine optimisation.
Today, I wanted to change some words in this section but to my surprise I cannot find the description box anymore. It seems as if it has been removed or so?
Can anyone explain that?
Best regards,

oh good, I’m not the only one who feels insane for thinking it was there in the SEO yesterday!
-
So there are at least two of us. ;)
Still, we have not received any supprot.
Have you?
Regards, Pawel. :) -
Have you tried clicking on “My Site” “Settings” and then “SEO” top middle of the screen?
-
Of course.
This is what I was exactly doing.
One day the META TEXT box was there and I put some key words into it and the very next day it was gone.
What a mystery. -
I got a response:
Our SEO tools recently changed; this was a brand new feature that we were experimenting with and has recently been upgraded to our Business Plan itself. This change occurred within the week, which is why you are no longer seeing it.
I looked around for alternatives, but it appears that there is none at this present moment in time. A Business Plan is required to access this tool. :( I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news!
Have a wonderful day, and if you have any more questions about WordPress.com, please don’t hesitate to ask. We are happy to help!

Thank you!
It seems I have been quite lucky to use it for free during the trial period and send the keywords to the Google engines before the function disappeared.
Luckily enough, Google managed to save them on its servers. :) -
How odd. At this moment I can still see this on my site:-
Site Verification Services Save Settings.
Note that verifying your site with these services is not necessary in order for your site to be indexed by search engines. To use these advanced search engine tools and verify your site with a service, paste the HTML Tag code below. Read the full instructions if you are having trouble. Supported verification services: Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Center, Pinterest Site Verification, and Yandex.Webmaster.
That is followed by four Meta boxes which I could complete. I guess any moment now that will disappear from my site too. As WordPress.com is a Beta for WordPress.org changes like this often happen without any announcement!!
