Missing editing buttons for composing posts

When composing or editing pages in WordPress, 2 of my blogs are now missing some of the basics buttons: one does not have the media button for inserting a picture in a post. Another does not have the color button for changing text color or highlighting text. I am the administrator for these blogs, not a contributor. I have cleared my browser cache, etc., but still have this issue. Any solution for this would be greatly appreciated! (I do not really want to get into CSS editing.)

When you switch between Visual and Text on your post editing screen, does that make any difference?
You’re not using the fullscreen editor by any chance?

No, I am not using full screen editor. When I switch between visual and text there is no difference of availability of text editing tools— just that text obvious describes the function in words and letters instead of icons.

Does the toolbar consist of one row of icons or two? If it’s just one, click on the rightmost icon (“toolbar toggle”). That should make the second row appear again, which includes the Text color button.
I’m not sure about not being able to insert a picture though…!

I’m guessing that you may be using an outdated browser version. 1. If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.

It was the toolbar toggle!! Thanks so much. You can tell I don’t do high level editing, lol. Never ever clicked on that icon because I never had any buttons “disappear.” I manage various blogs for teaching (e.g., http://lowerlevelspanish.wordpress.com), and it struck me as odd that certain things disappeared on one or two blogs in the toolbar, but not other blogs. Mystery solved. Good to know about Browse Happy, as well. I use a variety of browsers, and mine are apparently all up to date.
