Missing editor button under appearence
-
I want to edit the Css code i have for some of my webpages to remove the big ugly ‘read more’ buttons that are all over my website. Everyone says in order to access it, you just need to go to Appearance > Editor, but my editor button is missing. I just want to get rid of those red buttons so that my site looks more professional. Thank you

Hi there.
The guides you were reading were for self-hosted sites that run off the free software available at WordPress.org. We don’t have the Appearance > Editor option here at WordPress.com.
To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities.
At WordPress.com, we provide hosting, support, and tons of features for sites. Users also have the option to purchase a variety of plans to customise the look and feel of their site. WordPress.org is a software for self-hosted sites. With WordPress.org, users are provided access to all backend files and can upload custom themes and plugins.
The following guide gives a further overview on the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org:
It is possible to add custom CSS to change your site’s appearance here at WordPress.com, however, this requires the WordPress.com Premium or Business plan. We have further details on this here:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/custom-css/
Hope that helps to clarify things! Let me know if you have any extra questions.
