Hello there !
I have noticed recently that my facebook share numbers for all my blogs articles at wordpress are not displayed anymore (although the facebook share button is still there, at the botton of the article). Help me please fix this. Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Facebook deprecated some portions of their API today, including the method we used to get and display these share counts on these styled buttons. If you’d like to continue displaying those share counts on your site you’ll need to use the official buttons in Settings > Sharing. You can change the dropdown from Icon + text to Official Buttons.

Hi, I fixed the Facebook issue but now the “WordPress this” button keeps on disappearing after a few minutes. I keep adding it and it shows up then disappears after a few minutes.

@shanefdowling, I’m not sure what you mean by a “WordPress this” button. Can you please give a link to your site so we can take a look?
-
The button poeple can use to share my article on their own wordpress website. It should sit near the other share buttons (Facebook and Twitter etc) at the bottom of the article. My website is: https://kangaroocourtofaustralia.com/

Okay. That’s the Press This button. It’s not disappearing for me, but it does appear that the buttons on your site are out of alignment.
Please try the following, just to test what might be causing it:
1) Go to My Site ->Settings ->Traffic and scroll down to the Related Posts section. Please see if disabling Related Posts makes any difference.
2) If that doesn’t do it, please try switching to a different theme. If you go to My Site ->Themes and click on a theme there should be a “Try & Customize” option. Click that to preview a different theme in the Customizer without activating it on your site itself.
Can you also please tell me what browser you’re using? What I see vs what you see could be different browsers handling what’s happening here differently.

Hi
I’m using Google Chrome. When I am logged in it is shoing up but when I log out it disappears. I did what you said:1) Go to My Site ->Settings ->Traffic and scroll down to the Related Posts section. Please see if disabling Related Posts makes any difference.
(Actually it is My Site ->Settings ->Reading) on my menu. I thought it fixed it but it didn’t when I logged out.
Changing themes wont fix the issue as well and I have been using the same Theme for years.

You can try the theme out with out actually converting your site over to it. We’d like to rule the theme itself out as an issue, and this would be the steps to achieve that.
– Does a different browser work any differently?
– What version of Chrome are you using?
– Are there any browser extensions enabled? -
I wa trying another theme and accidently hit change and have now lost my theme can you change it back?
-
Hi, I can see you’ve changed your theme a few times today and I’m not sure which one you want to go to. But here’s what we have, if it helps:
– You were initially using Bold News
– You changed to Independent Publisher 2
– Then to Broadsheet
– Then back to Bold News.I’m guessing you’d like to leave it there, but if not, I hope this trail of previous themes is helpful, so can switch to whichever one you prefer. Let us know if you need more help!

I am still having an issue with the original problem of the “Press This” button notr showing up. It is there when I am logged in but disappears when I log out.
I am using Google Crome and also tried Microsoft Edge which made no difference. I tried a different theme (accidently) and it made no differnce as well.

That is supposed to happen. The Press This button can only be used to share the post to a WordPress.com site, so it will only appear for someone who is logged into a WordPress.com account.

Wordpress must have instituted the Official Button option in April sometime. After selecting that option, I can see recent blog posts this year have Facebook like counts. However, older posts don’t even show the Facebook share icon, and when I click on the Twitter share button, it doesn’t share the link to my blog post. Clear malfunction going on there. Also, my 2 most popular blog posts from 2009 that had hundreds of shares (modest number, but for me, it was a lot) is down to a low double digit count. Guess there’s no way to retrieve original counts, is there?
Thank you.
