Missing functionality

I have lost several abilities to do certain functions. One is the Quick Edit and another is to view the stats from wordpress.com about my blog. The screen just doesnt move or the stats page just sits blank Thanks in advance

Yes, I would have posted the fix. You cannot tell if its running correctly if you are not signed in to edit. I don’t think you could tell from the outside of administration. Thanks for the comment.

You’re not alone there. My problems started last week too. Still not resolved. Same as you, loss of functionality, buttons not working or missing. And I use Internet Explorer 10 on Windows 7, so it’s not an outdated browser. Frankly I give up.

Hi thewiseguyaz, can you check a couple things for me?
1. Do you have Javascript enabled? (You can check here if needed: http://supportdetails.com/ )
2. Do you have any browser extensions/add-ons that block scripts? If so, can you check to see if any scripts are blocked when you are on WordPress.com? In particular, you’ll need to be sure scripts from *.wp.com, *.wordpress.com, and *.gravatar.com are allowed.
Please let me know if you continue to have trouble with this, and I can keep troubleshooting it with you.
@ sophieetallis – Can you check the items above, as well, and let me know if that helps? The issue might also be related to your browser, in which case it could be different from what thewiseguyaz is experiencing. In particular, please make sure you have Compatibility View disabled: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view

@thewiseguyaz – Since you don’t have any script blockers, can you try disabling all Safari extensions/add-ons to see if a different one is causing this issue?
Also, please try temporarily disabling any virus or security/firewall software to see if that is blocking the pages from working properly. (You’ll want to turn that software back on for your computer’s protection, but if the pages work when the software is disabled you may need to whitelist the addresses I mentioned earlier.)

disabling the safari extensions corrected the issue. Now to find which one is causing it. I havent added anything since we last talked when the notifications was a problem. I will get back to you on which one it is. Thanks

The culprit is Ghostery 1.2 .0 by Evidon, Inc. I don’t remember enabling this addon but apparently I did at one time. I verified it three times. Enabled, no functionality. Disabled, perfect again.

You’re welcome! I’m glad you found the culprit.
Ghostery is an add-on that can, among other things, block scripts on websites, so it makes sense that it would be the issue here. If you want to keep using Ghostery you should be able to whitelist the scripts used on WordPress.com.
