missing H2s
-
Hello,
I am a copywriter for Room & Board and an administrator on our wordpress blog, where we use Yoast SEO. We work with a local company called Collective Measures which helps us understand how to improve the SEO ratings for our website. Part of their latest SEO audit included some flags about blog posts that are missing H1s or H2s (heading 1 and heading 2). I am trying to understand what that means for our blog, since it’s tough to understand what is an H1 on wordpress versus what is an H2. In particular, we have a lot of posts missing H2s. If you could help me understand more about this that would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,

Hi Gjerda,
Your site is not hosted on WordPress.com, but using the open source WordPress.org software at another hosting provider. We’re only able to help with sites hosted on our servers at WordPress.com.
Please ask the WordPress.org community for advice instead. They provide support for the version of WordPress you’re using:

it’s tough to understand what is an H1 on wordpress versus what is an H2. In particular, we have a lot of posts missing H2s.
In general, most themes set the site title as a H1 heading, with the titles of individual posts/pages using H2 headings. But it’s possible your theme is handling this differently. If that’s the case, contacting support for the specific theme you’re using might be a better option here.
