missing home page
-
We added a post to our blog http://pauluhl.wordpress.com and now the home page shows all the posts on the blog. All the nav info is pushed down tot he bottom. Any ideas for a fix?
The second part of this is that we want out “Welcome” pst to appear on the home page but I haven’t found a way to do that.

Wait – I see what you’re talking about now. You’ve probably got an open tag somewhere. (If you have been posting from Word, don’t – it’s a really bad idea.) Check out this FAQ http://faq.wordpress.com/2008/05/30/why-is-my-sidebar-at-the-bottom-of-my-posts/

In “BEER CAN, 8.27.08”, in the list toward the bottom, go to the HTML tab and after “47pts Turning Point add

Cool! is till had problems but think I’m a bit closer. I actually ended up taking all the </div> tags and it got me 95% of the way there. I now have all the posts and nav links where they’re supposed to be. However, is there a way to NOT have every post on this page? In other words, when someone visits http://pauluhl.wordpress.com I’d like them to see the “Welcome” message. All the other posts are already posted under their correct categories and pages.
Thanks for your help!

Perhaps you don’t understand how blogs work. Typically, all of the posts show up on the front page.
If you only want a welcome message, then you would have to put that on a separate page and then make that page a static page. A few FAQ entries:

You can change the number of posts that will show on the main page by going to settings > reading in your admin area and setting the number you wish to show there. To get to older posts, there will be a link at the bottom of the main page to “previous” or “older” posts. After changing the number, make sure and click “save” at the bottom of the page.

Hi there. I am totally new to blogging. I have created a WordPress blog, http://www.ilovemyowncooking.com, but my home page is blank. Any ideas as to why? Thanks in advance,
