Missing Icon – Feature on Stats Page

I know there’s been a change to the appearance of the environment where I work with our website. This happened a week or so ago and it was featured with one of those ‘click here to try the new….. so and so’.

I didn’t try it as I liked the way things were working BEFORE this change was rammed down my throat.

On the stats ‘page’ there is listed the pages visited. BEFORE this last change -there used to be an icon that was between the title and views. I could right click on that icon and see what the viewer had looked at on the website.

I CAN NOT do that anymore as this icon is now GONE

    !

Was this ability removed from my work environment or do I have to jump through some other hoop in order to see what the visitor was looking at on our website?

I’ll put the image I wanted to show in here in our media library on the site if anyone who has the power to do that wants to have a look at what I described above.

      thanks

  • Hi there,

The links in the posts and pages list on the main stats page have been removed, yes, as the repetitive “View” icon added clutter to that module. You can still get to the specific post or page by clicking on its title on that list, and then clicking the View Post button that will appear on the next page that loads.

We’re passing feedback about this change on to our developers, but at the moment there are no plans to roll back this change.

Ok – I THINK I have this figured out why I can NOT see most of the items that are being viewed in the stats page.

I can go back and find things that have been ‘recorded’ – THOSE things I can view. But even if I go back a week or more sometimes – it says “we don’t have that post on record yet.”.

So I can NOT see what pages are being viewed (if that message comes up at the top of the window when I click on a title that was viewed) – meaning I can see a title but NOT the page or picture or item if it hasn’t been recorded.

THIS IS NOT HOW it used to be before this last change correct???

strong>SO how can I get WP to record all the views so I can see what my visitors are looking at?

Amazingly there is A LOT that is not recorded.

As a result I really can NOT see what things are being looked at from our website. This makes the STATS a bit useless for me.

Think I’ll send this to Customer Support too – thanks for taking a look at this kokkieh.

    • An update – our developers have decided to return the View Post link, but now it will only be visible when you move your mouse over the title of a specific post in the list. Hope that helps :)

      It works fine.
