Missing images in imported posts

  I have moved from Self-hosted to wordpress.com & created an export xml file (in parts) I imported all the xml files & it worked!

  However, I now notice that posts earlier than Jan 10th 2013 have missing images for the post. The featured image is OK, but the body images are all missing.

  If I EDIT the article & click the image, it then shows in the editor. I click update without doing anything & the image has returned.

  So, all the images are there, but not showing unless I edit/save each one. I can’t do that as we are talking about 3000+ images for 2010-2012

  it seems like part of the URL PATH to these missing images shows as [wp-content/uploads] & when i click EDIT this is updated to [files.wordpress subdomain]

  Any ideas how I could fix this?

  Hi there,

  Sorry about that! Can you give me a link to a post where the images aren’t showing up correctly? We should be able to fix that up for you, but it’ll help to see an example that hasn’t been fixed yet.

  Ok, good news! Our team was able to fix most of the images on your WordPress.com blog. There are still some posts where the images weren’t all uploaded to your WordPress.com media library, and for those you’ll need to upload the images manually to fix them.

  Some of these posts have all of their images, but they include links to SWF files, which can’t be uploaded at WordPress.com. (You can read about our Accepted Filetypes for more details.)

  These are the posts we weren’t able to entirely fix:
