Missing 'i's

In all the comments to every blog post in our WordPress blog (but not the posts themselves) all the ‘i’s (the letter ‘i’) have disappeared. What happened?

No need to apologize :) It looks like only lowercase “i” characters are missing.
At first I thought it might have been just a weird rendering issue or something funky with the CSS…
Looking at the markup the “i”s aren’t just not displaying it’s like they’ve been removed from the comments entirely…
I’ll keep trying to figure out a cause and more importantly a solution.

I have tried to edit the comments to replace the missing letters, but in the edit format they are still present.

Are you using a self-hosted WordPress.org? Or are you using a WordPress.com Premium account? If you’re self-hosted, try posting on the wordpress.org support forums https://wordpress.org/support/
Have you made any changes to the site recently? Anything like a new theme?
