Missing old posts
-
Back on 29th April, I made a post announcing the sad news of the death of our son. As I now scroll down through the main home page, I notice that the post (and perhaps some others) no longer appear. The odd thing is that it appears in all my admin pages and on the mobile ‘Reader’, but not as I scroll down. Please could you help me understand what is happening? The address for the particular post is – https://tracingtherainbowthroughtherain.wordpress.com/2015/04/29/our-agonising-loss-of-ben/
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Go to your Archives widget in your sidebar. Select the correct month of publication and you will find it https://tracingtherainbowthroughtherain.wordpress.com/2015/04/

I am aware I can find it that way, but I’m perplexed and saddened that it seems to have dropped out of sight as I scroll down. The post I made before it appears and the one after it, but not it itself.

If it is missing then please type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for Staff help. A factor may be relevant is that as I come to the point scrolling where it should appear, the URL suddenly has the suffix ‘page 3’ added to it. It seems the missing post may be dropping off between pages…?

Do you have infinite scroll enabled? See here https://en.support.wordpress.com/infinite-scroll/

I now notice that there are seven posts (between 23rd March through to 3rd May) that won’t load as I scroll. They appear in the archives and admin pages, but not as I screen scroll.
-
Thanks for posting that additional information for Staff. Will you please provide titles or URLs for the missing posts.

It seems that the following posts (19 of them) still appear in the archive but have inexplicably disappeared as you scroll down through the page for no particular reason…many posts remain, but the following others don’t….

Thanks so much. The URLs will expedite Staff’s ability to assist you when they get to this thread.

I can replicate the issue. That is very odd!
So, I have noticed that if you turn off infinite scroll those posts do appear.
-
Thanks – that seems counter-intuitive, but it’s worked. Under WP Admin/Settings/Reading, I’ve set the number of “Blog Pages to show at the most” to 100, and everything now seems to show. It kind of makes the “Infinite Scroll” option seem a little buggy?

Having a ton of posts can make it be a little buggy, yes. Mostly just because there is so much to load.
