Missing Pages!
-
Hi, I’m trying to create pages in my blog. I’m using the ‘Pen’ theme, and am wondering if it supports pages. I’ve gone to Manage –> Write Page, and wrote in what I needed, but when I published it, it doesn’t show in my blog!
Any help will be appreciated. Many thanks!

Hi there.
1. Could you link to your blog please?
2. Have you done a force reload? http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/09/06/force-refresh/
3. Are the pages maybe unpublished? Check Dashboard -> Manage -> Pages. Then view one of the pages and look on the right under status.

Off topic but could you change the url of your blog from http://arts.usyd.edu.au/ where it leads to server unknown to what I think is your site at http://www.arts.usyd.edu.au/

I could be TOTALLY misunderstanding how this whole thing really works…so there may be some other way around this, BUT…I base most of my blog on pages and the way it seems to work is that PAGES don’t appear like POSTS do, ie. when you write & publish them. PAGES are more fixed.
The titles of your PAGES will come up in your side bar as links that readers click in order read your PAGE. In order to do this you need to put your PAGES widget into your sidebar. I don’t think you have to do anything other than that. Just put the PAGES widget over there to the left and your PAGE titles should show up. I believe the default setting is so that each time you update or add a new page that title will then move to the top of the list on your side bar. I hate that so I’ve changed it so they appear in number order.
(JUST IN CASE: the widgets can be found by MY DASHBOARD -> Presentation -> widgets
then just drag up to the box on the upper left)To do that, If you click on the little text icon on the widget you should be able to choose how the PAGE titles are ordered. In the PAGES “write” section you can select the order number of your pages.
The only POST I have on my page is the “home page” you see when you first get to the site, everything else is PAGES. Have a look and see if it helps.

I took a bit of a guess and found these links; I think it’s your blog and one your pages?

http://usydlanglib.wordpress.com/about/So your pages definitely exist. I think pressrec is right; you need to put the Pages Widget into your sidebar in Presentation > Widgets so that they can show up. And as carocat said, if you go to Dashboard > Manage > Pages you’ll be able to see the pages you’ve written and click view to see them. Hope that helps.
