Missing pages after importing my site

Thanks so much! And I’d assumed you wouldn’t get my message ’till this morning, so no worries on that front.

I’d like to confirm with you the “proper” way to do this fresh migration. Is this right?
    1. Go to my site at BlueHost and export the file.
    2. At WordPress.com, add a new site. Then import the file into this new site.

Is that correct? Just want to make sure I’m taking the right steps.

Thanks so much for your help with this!!!

    Almost correct.

You don’t need to add a new site, you just need to log in to sixchimes.wordpress.com’s (or the other one’s) dashboard and then navigate to Tools >> Import >> WordPress and import the file there. No need to create another new site at this point! That’s why we cleared these ones out.

Let me know if you run in to any problems or have any questions.

Okay, that makes sense. Thanks for your patience!

    Fingers crossed!

No, seriously. Thank you! You’ve been a genuine hero through all of this. So patient!

Let me know how it goes!

    Hello again.

Looks like I’m still missing a few pages. Would you like me to document which ones? Or is there something else you’d like to try?

After re-importing from your WordPress.org installation you’re missing pages? Bleh.

How many? And are you missing any other content (like significant amounts of media)?

If it’s just a few pages, I think that the best bet is going to be for me to show you the easiest way to manually move pages over. For some reason it sounds like the pages aren’t getting grabbed by the export, and since I don’t have access to your WordPress.org site I couldn’t begin to tell you why. :(

Let me know if it’s one or two or, you know, a TON of them. I’m so sorry!

I don’t think it’s a ton of pages… I really don’t have a huge, complicated site. I’ll figure out which critical pages/media are missing and let you know. Hoping I’ll have time to figure this out tomorrow. It’s been a crazy week. Thanks again for your help!

Hi! Just wanted you to know that I recently discovered that all my pages HAVE migrated after all–hurray! (Possibly, I’d been looking at a different menu earlier). Thanks again for helping me recover all my content!!

    Hey hey! What fantastic news!

Thanks for letting me know, and let me know if you need anything going forward.

Just as cleanup, here’s a help article on how to delete blogs for those buffer sites we created: http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/

    Have a great one!
