Why is my website .wordpress rather than the purchased web address, which is supposed to be .com anyway?

  • Hi there,

Your domains (akercomb-bush.com and akercomb-bush.co.uk) are indeed registered through 123 Reg, and your site is hosted here with us at WordPress.com. However, it appears that the Premium plan on your WordPress.com site has expired. This is crucial because a plan is necessary for a domain to be connected to your site. The expiration of your plan has led to the disconnection of your domains, causing your website to revert to the default .wordpress address.

To address this, you’ll need to re-purchase the Premium plan for your WordPress.com site. You can do this by visiting the following link: https://wordpress.com/plans/

Once you have your Premium plan in place, you can reconnect your domains to your WordPress.com site. We have a helpful guide available that will walk you through this process. You can find this guide at: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/connect-existing-domain/

I understand that this situation can be a bit confusing, especially if you’re not overly familiar with how domain registration and web hosting work. Please know that we’re here to help you every step of the way.
