To set up panels, you’ll need to set your front page to display a static page, instead of your latest posts.
Right now you’ve selected “Static page” but you haven’t told your site which page to use. From the drop-down menu next to “Front page,” select which page you’d like to be the very first thing people see on your homepage.
Once you’ve done that, you should be able to select your other panels in the Theme Options section in your Customizer.
Let me know how it goes!

Hi there, another question regarding this topic…
After setting up the panel section along with my home page, the translation widget and the social media icon widget disappeared. The widgets are still visible on other pages, just not on my homepage/panel page. I tried to play with the visibility settings under the widget section but had no luck figuring this out yet….
Do you have any suggestions?

On the panel-driven front page, there are three widget areas at the bottom, instead of a sidebar.
You can add any widgets you like (such as the translation widget and social media widget) into any of the three Footer widget areas in your Customizer‘s Widgets panel.
Let me know how it goes!
