Missing Shop Page – Please Help!

  • Unknown's avatar

I don’t know if I am missing something or what but my site works just fine, its integrated with WooCommerce, my products are live – everything is great but I cannot edit my actual ‘Shop’ page.
I want to change the slug on the page but it is nowhere to be found.
I searched under pages, under every single page, searched by ID, searched under posts…nothing. I have images that I can show.

Under Appearance >> Menus >> Shop
it says it is a page.
Under woocommerce settings it says it is connected to a page – but how do I edit this page?!

    Please helpp

  • Hi there,

You can make use of a custom Shop page to replace the default Shop page. Try this:

    (1) Create a new page, name it as for example “Custom Shop Page”.

    (2) On the “Custom Shop Page” page, use the Products shortcode provided by WooCommerce to design the layout of your own shop page. As such, you can include an image or a link to the website.

    (3) Once you’re done with the design of your custom shop page, go to Appearance > Customize > Homepage settings, choose your “Custom Shop Page” as the homepage of your WooCommerce store.

If your site is not hosted on WordPress.com, for future topics related to the free WooCommerce plugin, you can post them on the WordPress.org WooCommerce support forum.

If you have purchased a paid WooCommerce extension, you can create a ticket here.

For general self-hosted WordPress topics, please post them at the WordPress.org support forum.

  • Just to add on, the slug of the Shop page is created by default by WooCommerce. If you want to only change it, you may consider creating a custom shop page using the steps I listed above but use a page title that you wish to have as the slug.

    Thank you so much.

    The site url is http://www.faunaflora.life

    the slug is faunaflora.life/shop-2

But that makes sense, I will override it and hopefully create a new page that I can customize. Thank you very much.

    One more question!

If I like the layout of my current shop page and don’t want to change it, is there no way to find where this page is?

  • I’ve taken a look at your site, the URL faunaflora.life/shop still exists, that means the page should be still there.

The faster way to just change the slug will be:

    (1) At the wp-admin dashboard Pages > All Pages, locate the page that has the slug as shop. Click Quick Edit and change the slug to something else and save the changes.

    (2) Go to the Shop page that you’re having as your home page, click Quick Edit and change the slug from shop-2 to shop then save the changes.

If you’re still having problem or question, it’ll be best to post at the WooCommerce plugin support forum since this is the WordPress.com support forum.
