Missing sidebar

  • Unknown's avatar

I’m embarassed because I’m sure there is something I’m overlooking… but I can’t find the answer in the forums.

I’m using a static page as my frontpage, while my blog posts are running on a page called “blog”.

My sidebar appears on my frontpage and all other “pages” including the “blog” page. However, when I click on an individual post (either through recent posts or off the blog page) the sidebar disappears.

Again, I’m guessing that this is something simple, but would someone please tell me how to make my sidebar appear on every page in my site?

On most but not all themes the sidebar is displayed on all pages. Therefore this disappearance could be a “feature” of the theme you have chosen.

However, if you have customized the css for your theme and then experienced the problem, then you will have to post in the css customization forum and wait for a fellow blogger to assist you as there is no staff support provided for css customization.

I’m using Kubrick and have not customized my css. The only modifications I’ve made to my site design are to use a static frontpage (rather than a listing of posts) and to have a custom banner image.

I’m that this is not a “feature” of Kubrick.

Ah ha! Then we know what to do. Go directly to the feedback button on the top right hand corner of any blog page and put a link back to this forum thread in your message to staff. BTW I just discovered that the Kubrik theme is no longer being made available in our presentation themes section on our admin panel.

Apparently this IS a feature of the Kubrik theme: Sidebars on pages but NOT on posts!

I tried switching themes to see what another would look like but now I can’t get it back. I should have heeded your warning… I thought since I was using it it wouldn’t go away for me.

    I want my Kubrick back!

OMG! I was sure it was the way it was so I thought that if I tipped you it was gone as a theme selection then you wouldn’t “mess” with it. Now what to do? You are about to become the second person today sending in a feedback crying out to staff “give me back my Kubrik”. Best of luck BTW.
    P.S. I like K2 Lite better than Kubrik. :)

Kubrick’s back–Hooray! According to support it was an accident.

Good news! So what was the accident? Was it the sidebar bit? Or was it the disappearance of the theme from our admin section?

  • Unknown's avatar

The disappearance of the theme… The sidebar bit is an intentional part of the theme–sadly.

    Thanks for your help!
