Missing static front page and buttons

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,

I am very new to WordPress, think 3 days old:) Everything seems to be working fine until today. I can’t see the buttons below each post but my friend can view from her computer. My front page which has been set to static would sometimes show up as Missing Not Found. However, that same friend would clicked on the About/front page button but would see the message Missing Not FOund.

    Here’s my blog: talltales2share.wordpress.com

    Would appreciate any tips/advice.

    Thanks

    1) “Shop” and “Contact” should be static pages, not posts and categories.
    2) “Home” isn’t a category either: home is the blog front.

So, first you need to edit the Shop post, copy everything from the Text editor, paste it into the Text editor of a Shop page you’ll create in Pages > Add New. Same thing for Contact. Then you go to Posts > All Posts and trash the Shop and Contact posts. Then you go to Posts > Categories and delete the Shop, Contact and Home categories.

Then, in Appearance > Menus: delete the current About, Shop and Contact items; click Show All in the Pages module, select the new Shop and Contact pages as well as the ready-to-use Home item, click Add to Menu; drag to change their order, click Save Menu.
