Missing translations from theme localisation
-
Hi,
I am in the process of migrating one of my site from self-hosted to wp.com. I decided to go Premium and use one of the many premium themes included in the price. Found one I like, Duet.
The issue is that the blog is in Italian and not all strings in theme are coming out translated. Things like “Posted by” are still in English. And a few others.
This could be down a variety of reasons: a) the theme author didn’t pass the string through the localisation functions; or b) the localisation files are incomplete.
How do I got about fixing this one?
Thanks.

Hi there, I just checked the Italian translation for Duet, it looks like Posted on was translated but the translation was rejected and is awaiting correction. Currently that translation is at 91%.
If you would like to see what has been translated, or would like to help out with the translations to speed things along, please visit https://translate.wordpress.com/ for more information.

Hi, thanks for that. I’d love to contribute. Any chance you could drop me a more direct link to the Duet translation? I don’t seem to find my way there :)
Thanks.

I actually did find my way, eventually. And I am now confused. It looks like that string has been translated since 2014, unless I am looking at the wrong “Duet”.

Hi there,
Thanks for your help in debugging this. We’ve located the bug which is preventing the translation from showing as expected. We’ll update this thread once the fix is rolled out. Note that we can’t give a timeline just yet so we appreciate your patience while we work to remedy this.

We are waiting on the theme developer to fix this – the Duet theme is developed by a third-party theme shop, so we cannot fix it directly.

Hi, not sure my nudge served at anything, but I can now confirm the correct localisation is showing. Thanks for the help!
