Missing WWW in broswer URL
-
I have online hosting through Godaddy.com. When the domain is empty and I upload a simple index.html file I am correctly taken to http://www.mysitename.com and the index.html file is displayed. After installing and configuring WordPress, however, browsing to http://www.mysitename.com redirects me to mysitename.com (without the WWW)
The question is… how can I set up and configure WordPress to display the WWW in front of the site’s name?
I have attempted to use Google Webmaster tools to repoint the DNS to http://www.mysitename.com and also verified that the CNAME records are correct however neither of these courses of action has resolved the issue.
With just an index.html file in the root the site name is displayed correctly. After WordPress is installed the WWW is missing so I am 100% positive the issue is not with the domain or the hosting itself. There must be some type of redirection going on in the PHP scripts.
Any response would be GREATLY appreciated :-) Thanks so much!

I wondered that as well but seeing as you are still directed to the correct site even if you put www in front of the address I decided not to worry too much about it as much!

If you are self-hosting using the software from wordpress.org – which I suspect is what you are talking about, then you need to inquire over at http://wordpress.org/support/ as this forum is for those hosted here at wordpress.com, the free-hosting service.
