Missing WYSIWYG controls

Add topic to favorites
Not sure what’s happened here, but all WYSIWYG controls have disappeared from the write post function. I’ve tested this on several browsers and OS and I’m having the same problem.

similar thing just happened to me. the controls are there in internet explorer, but not in firefox.

buttons now returned in Firefox… I’ll leave the issue open until everyone seems happy.

are those the editing buttons? cuz i tried IE6 and Firefox, they do not show up. =(

hmm, that seemed to work. i just turned it off and turned it back on . so i guess it was a bit buggy. thanks !

Another thing you can do is clear your cache and do a forced reload of the page. They probably did an upgrade of TinyMCE, the rich text editor, and it sometimes happens.

There’s even a FAQ on the subject.

It also happens sometimes when you experience the “nameless YouTube glitch” where all your YouTube videos in the blog turn into white boxes. Then you can’t get the rich text editing buttons when you want to edit those particular posts. Do a restart and that generally clears things up.

My Youtubes are showing up fine, so this isn’t the YouTube glitch at the moment, but all the rich text editing buttons have vanished and none of these tricks seem to bring it back. I wonder if this is related to some of the upgrades that have been happening recently? Is anyone else experiencing this, or found a workaround?

I’m on IE 6, windows 98.

Rain, read up a couple of posts. :)

Clear your cache and do a reload. They probably did an upgrade of the editor.

No, that’s what I meant by “none of these tricks seem to bring it back.” I tried them all, including the one on the other thread.

Well Happy Birthday anyway. They should clear up soon, because whatever they did last night this thing is slick and speedy today. The pic insertion and pasting doesn’t have to happen twice now, and the rich text editor loads like a racehorse.
