  Hi

  I am unable to change the opening statement that I published when I first created my blog. I am not even sure how you call that.. Mission statement maybe??? Can you please help

  It’s called a tagline:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/general-settings/
  dashboard—>settings—>general—>tagline—>type in what you want—>save

  Tagline is next and is a short description or catchy phrase to describe what your blog is about. Some themes will display the tagline in the header or in the sidebar.

  I’d suggest you keep the tagline short and descriptive of your blog so search engines can easily classify what you write about. Use a longer description about your blog on an “about” page instead.
